EDInformatics: Released State Tests and Sample Tests for all subjects
This website includes links to released state tests for all subjects including English/Language Arts, Math, and Science. This is one of their most heavily trafficked pages as students, teachers and parents search for the most recent test releases from their state. Here you will find a list of links to states that have released past standardized tests or sample questions from these exams. This is one of the most extensive lists on the Web and updated regularly. These tests are mostly in PDF format and require Adobe reader. Unlike Georgia, many states only test science twice in the 3rd-8th grade level span.
In addition, we have used actual questions from past TIMMS Tests to create several Math and Science Tests that can be taken Online. A bar graph for each test is also available that indicates how students performed on each question. This is a great tool for teacher's to let them know what topics students are need the most help in. Tests are available in grades 3/4, 7/8 and 12 Mathematics and Science. http://edinformatics.com/testing/
NAEP: National Association for Educational Progress - The Nation's Report Card
Click on the "Questions Tool" to search the database of released test questions for all subject areas including Civic, Economics, Geography, Mathematics, Reading, Science, U.S. History, and Writing. In science, NAEP tests are only administered every 5 years in grades 4, 8, and 12, but the 4th grade test questions can be used with grades 3-5, and the 8th grade test questions can be used with grades 6-8, etc. Questions can be searched by Field of Science (Earth, Life, Physical); Knowing & Doing Science (Scientific Investigation, Practical Reasoning, Conceptual Understanding); Difficulty (Easy, Medium, Hard); and Type (Multiple Choice, Short Constructed Response, Extended Constructed Response). Questions can then be selected and printed off to use as a student test. Rubrics and sample student work is provided for all the short and extended constructed response questions.

MOSART: Misconceptions-Oriented Standards-Based Assessment Resources for Teachers
This is one of the most common laments from educators. Your students may perform well on your assessment instruments, yet say things in class which leave you wondering if they really understand the underlying concepts. Or perhaps you’re at the beginning of a unit and are unsure about what your students already know. Which concepts do they already grasp, and which will you have to address? If any of these doubts and questions sound familiar, then the MOSART project was designed to help you. The acronym MOSART stands for:
The MOSART tests are available free to all educators; however, since their structure and use differs from many assessment instruments you may be familiar with, we require anyone seeking access to these instruments to complete a quick tutorial in their correct application. To start your tutorial and gain access to the tests, first create a new user account on the left (user accounts are free). Once you have created your account you can log in using the same email address and password. The site will keep track of your progress through the tutorial, and give you direct access to the tests once the tutorial is complete. Complete MOSART Test Inventory (no life science is available at this time):

TIMSS (Third International Math and Science Study) Released Math and Science Test Questions for Grades 4 and 8 Another source for released tests for Math and Science in grades 4 and 8. The test is administered every four years and you can download each one of these tests in pdf format. At this time you are not able to search the test questions by skill or topic and the pdf are quite large containing upwards of 80-130 pages.
